20240321T0900 20240321T1230 Africa/Accra Using Earth Science to Power Humanitarian Action

NASA Lifelines: Satellite Games

NASA Lifelines is hosting a different kind of workshop. Join us for a memorable, game show experience where anyone can volunteer to be a contestant on "Family Feud" or "Price is Right" and learn how satellites support humanitarian action. After these two game rounds, participants will be invited to form trivia teams during our networking break. For the trivia game, questions will come from the content covered in the first two games focusing on relevant satellite data, tools and applications. Beyond an unforgettable learning and networking experience, participants will also have the chance to earn cool NASA swag as well as a limited-edition NASA Lifelines Non-Fungible Token (NFT). In addition to being a fun digital collector's item, these NFTs will be valuable for the NASA Lifelines humanitarian simulation in October. The simulation theme will be announced the week before ICT4D.

Workshop participants will gain the following:

Learn how earth science and technology are being used to accelerate humanitarian missionsLearn about different types of geospatial and remote sensing data and their real-world applicationsLearn about different geospatial tools and technologies and how they have been successfully deployed in humanitarian effortsParticipate in identifying gaps and needs at the intersection of Earth science and humanitarian effortsNetwork with others working in the domain and build functional collaborations.Learn about opportunities to engage with NASA Lifelines programs to continue networking and using these tools
